I am Pastor Sanael Emoi. I am married to Faylin Tirit Emoi, and we have three daughters. Our first born is Lisa Dabingo Emoi, who is studying Information Technology at Datec Unitech in Lae city. Our second daughter is Jeanie Bingyamo Emoi, who is in grade 12 this year and our third daughter is Melyanie Emoi, who is in grade four at primary school.

I became a disciple of Jesus Christ through my infant baptism. I attended Sunday School classes, after which I attended confirmation classes for a year, before being confirmed and receiving the confirmation blessing. This allows me to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ in youth ministries, attend church services, receive the eucharist and participate in many church activities.

As I entered my teenage years, I noticed that many people (young and old) were involved in taking drugs and alcohol, which caused violence against women and children at home and on the streets. I noticed people also took part in criminal activities and occult practices which caused tribal fighting. My noticing of these things is what prompted me to become a pastor. I wanted to preach to such people for them to be changed and become Christ’s disciples.

I studied theology for six years at Martin Luther Seminary in Lae, Papua New Guinea and graduated with a Diploma of Theology in 2008. In 2014, I completed my Bachelor of Theology at the same seminary. I often find joy through my work as a pastor, staying closer with God in prayer, attending church worship services, spending time with my family and Christian friends and sharing God’s word with people in the church and abroad.

I am now a LCA International Mission scholarship recipient, completing a Master of Theology degree online through Grand Canyon University in the United States of America. The subjects I have studied already include: Introduction to Graduate Studies in Ministry and Theology, Ministerial Ethics, Hermeneutics, Practical Theology, Old Testament Foundations and New Testament Foundations. Thank you so much for your contribution to my scholarship. I am grateful to have this opportunity to study.

I need your prayers to support me to complete the Master’s degree successfully. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will help me and my family to stand firm in faith, to overcome trials and temptation and help to carry out the ministry of Jesus Christ in the church.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you as you continue to serve him. Amen.

Your brother in Christ,
Pr. Sanael Kauckisa Emoi.
