Nothing too small for God’s faithfulness

Hoom came to ‘Home of Grace’ directly from a construction site. She was already in the seventh month of her pregnancy. The child’s father had gone his own way before Hoom even knew she was pregnant. She continued working until she could no longer cope with the physically hard work. Hoom called a helpline and received numbers for two other homes, but they refused to accept her because she does not have Thai citizenship. Hoom is from northern Thailand and her parents belong to a mountain people who are living on the state border area.

Eventually, she got the number to ‘Home of Grace’ and was welcomed by the friendly voice of Pisara. ‘Home of Grace’ is in Bangkok, Thailand and offers a place to stay for women who are rejected by their family, community, relatives and friends. The women receive counselling, empowerment and healing. Eventually they are able to return to their families and communities and live their life as an equal member of their community. They are then witnesses to God´s love as they tell others what they have experienced of God´s love and care. Hoom was relieved when she finally arrived at ‘Home of Grace’. She felt that the atmosphere at ‘Home of Grace’ was very approving.

As part of her stay at ‘Home of Grace’, Hoom was invited to attend worship services. From the first church visit, she remembers the cross she looked at and thought, ‘if God is in this church, could He help’? Immediately afterwards, she received help and friendly treatment from many people.

Hoom feels that there has been a lot of guidance in her life since she called on ‘Home of Grace’. Hoom gave birth to a daughter and named her Lisa. Eventually Hoom and Lisa became baptised members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Thailand.

We can trust that nothing is too small or too complicated for God. His love covers everything because of his faithfulness. He has promised to be with us in all circumstances. No matter how great an obstacle we are facing, we can trust that God will help.
